1st Day of School Take 2!

Jason & Jordan started 6th & 5th grade respectively on Tuesday, Jack started back at their school with them. The last few weeks have been full of heart wrenching decisions and happenings, it's been rough to be quite honest but we are pulling through and now feel like everyone is where they need to be. We had pulled the twins out of their private school and put them in the public school on base...one word:disaster. Without going into too much detail it was a completely different world then we have come to expect from our little private Christian school bubble that we have been a part of for 6 years now. We pulled them for a variety of reasons, but most notably that Justin began to have "issues" in kindergarten. He has developed an impulsive angry streak within him and gets frustrated easily with other kids. He's a right fighter and he's a die hard rule follower, so when you are surronded by 20 other 5 year old's who, for instance, like to cut in line..he will haul off and push/hit you because Oh no we do not cut in line! So sayeth Justin. It was a very rough year so to give him a clean break where he wasn't "labeled" by both teachers and students we thought the base school would be a good alternative. Let me just say we pulled him after day 2(same issues again) and Jack the next day(our always happy and enthusiastic baby Jack was miserable there). So long, long, very long, story short...we have 3 in private school where they had been last year, and 1 homeschooled. Two things I never thought I'd do in my life: have twins and homeschool. More on that later. So Jason started middle school..halfway to graduation...not okay with me! He is nothing but excited to change classes be out of uniforms and have a locker...too cute. Jordan is in 5th and his teacher happens to be a good friend of mine whom we go to church with and he was of course tackled by his posse of loyal followers when they saw him on the playground; that child will never lack for friends! Jack was ecstatic to be back at his school so that transistion went well, he's a bit emotional these days but I think it will just take time for him to adjust to Justin not being there. As for Justin, he begins with the Grace Learning Academy(online Christian homeschool curriculum) on the 15th. I love the way it is setup, does all of the lesson planning and such for me, everyday he opens his virtual "locker" to get his assignments for the day, they test him and all so I anticipate this will go well. We are prayerful that a year of peace and calm being home will begin to soften that heart of his, it was a very drastic move for us but one we feel was very neccessary. Whew! Have I bored you yet?
