Puppy Love!

We have offically entered the world of puppy makin....wow, I need to come up with a better title than that. Anyhoo, we are on day 1 of trying to impregnate Bella. We want one more Lhasa so instead of purchasing one we are going to let her have a litter of her own. The boys and I are very excited to take on this learning project together and it should be super fun! So enter Baxter, Bella's beau. Ahhh, Baxter and Bella...doesn't it sound like a children's storybook title?! Wish us luck, they've both never done this before so there may be a learning curve involved if you know what I mean!

The funniest thing at the orthodontist

This was my favorite part of the orthodontist office. They have these boards up on the wall that tell all of the poor brace bound children what they can have (yes, yes) and what they can't (no-no) Poor Jason, take a look at what is on the no-no board. Yep popcorn, his fav food next to spaghetti. Poor guy. We told him when he gets them off in 2 years that we are going to have a giant junk food party for him and all of his friends where we serve nothing but garbage he couldn't have when the braces were on. I think I will pop 30 flavors of popcorn.

Turn the TV off and find an activity

Uhhh, maybe I should just let their minds become goo and watch TV. This was the result of the "activity" I requested they find. They came up with some type of game where each of them build a fort and then they launch "bombs" which are other legos at each other's forts in an attempt to destroy it. Must be a boy thing? Don't girls like sit and color and stuff?

Waiting for George

So as we were waiting for Air Force 1 to land we hung out in John's office which is pretty much like being at ESPN Zone. Homeboy has the hook-up. Gigantic flat screen TV on the wall, candy dishes everywhere, fridge, coffee-pot(my personal fav), and a couch. Kids watched TV, ate all of his food and chilled. Can I just tell you, I question how much work the man actually does all day. He did answer the phone a few times while we were in there so I took a picture of him "working".

Well Hello Mr. President

You know every now and then I realize just how cool being married to the Air Force is. We got to watch Air Force 1 land at the base the other day. It was just major cool factor. Secret Service everywhere..wow, those guys mean business. Their "Command Post" was one door down from John's office and they had a guy posted at that door that had the bigges gun I have ever seen. Sniper people with big binoculars and even bigger guns everywhere you look. No sudden movements please. It was like a scene from a movie. When the planes land two mini vans accelerate on either side of the plane with guys hanging out of the van with GIGANTIC machine guns. I'm tellin ya! I'm not making this stuff up! Not to mention the plane itself is HUGE. W was here to tour the wildfires so he landed said hi to some important people...no, not us :) and then boarded Marine 1 to go have a look see. Did I mention it was cool?

Lake Tahoe

Well, you are just going to have to take my word for it. We went to Lake Tahoe last week. Did I get out the camera? No. Do I have any proof that we were actually at the cabin, at the beach, rafting down the Trukee river again? No. Did we have fun? Yes. Can I prove that in a court of law? No. So this pictureless blog entry will leave the memories of our trip up to your imagination. If I could draw you some stick figures I would. But trust me, we had fun...insert smiley face here. :)

Camping!

We went camping over the weekend. Our favorite place is Pt. Reyes near the coast. We went with a couple of other families and had a great time; next camping excursion...Monterey! Coming to a blog near you August 2008.

I turned 30.

What more can I say? Yikes...I think that pretty well describes it?

Braces....take 2

Jordan has also taken the plunge...well sort of. He has an "occulusal guide" that he wears evernight and two hours a day. It will, theoretically, move his teeth into proper positions without the need for braces. He will wear this for a year and if it doesn't work this rockin orthodontist that we found puts braces on for free. The guide is called magic braces. It's about 1/4 of the price of regular braces and should fix him right up! So we may live on Top Ramen noodles for the next 24 months as we go through these processes but we'll get there!

Braces...take 1

Well, Jason has officially entered his first pre-teen right of passage...braces. There goes his college fund! Poor guy took it like a man, chose red and white as props to his fav St. Louis Cardinals and is doing very well. The first three days I thought he was going to starve to death. It is very hard for him to eat as he has "turbos" also glued to the back of his two front teeth that preven his back teeth from making contact with each other. So he basically is down to slurping and swallowing. Yep, it had to be the kid that weighs 20 pounds....one stiff wind and he will blow away. But we are figuring this whole thing out as we go. Lots and lots of soft foods, like pasta, ice cream, bannanas, yogurt.....he's on a toddler diet!

They're back!

Boys are back from camp...okay they got back like two weeks ago but I have been on a "blogcation" so I am just now updating. They did survive the wildfires and had a blast. They came back slightly cleaner than last year as they have apparently instituted a one mandatory shower a day policy. Thank you to whoever came up with that! First order of business? In and Out on the way home. I took some pics of Cal Fires base camp that was about 5 minutes from the entrance to their camp. Crazy close those fires.

This is why mother's say things like that....

You know all of the little pearls of wisdom that we pass on to our children that are inherently valuable to their lives? Things like, look both ways before you cross the street, don't pick your nose, don't take the gum out of your mouth. There is a method to our madness isn't there? Well, Jack decided to take the gum out of his mouth and what do you know, it ended up in his hair. Now I know there are like 1,000 cures for this. Rub peanut butter on it, baby oil, whatever...I go commando and went straight for the scissors. The result? Well, it's not pretty and I am definitely sure I do not have a future in hairdressing to say the least.

Day 3 of 6 year old days

Bowling! What more can I say? You throw the ball, you hit the pins, it's bowling, what fun!

Day 2 of 6 year old days!

The fun rolls on, yesterday John took Justin to a river cats game in Sacramento; just the two of them. They apparently had a great time and it involved a giant $4 snow cone so really, what says fun more than that?

Jack and I picked up matching oreo milkshakes(I can't let the boy eat alone after all, that'd be rude!) and headed to Bible study at church. He liked having me all to himself and it was very strange only having one child in the house...sheesh! One kid?! What a piece of cake!

I have an announcement!

My announcement is this, I, Sonia, can no longer stay up until 10 to watch Army Wives on Sunday nights. I know, I know, it came as a shock to me too! Since I don't have the fancy, fancy, DVR(Cristina!) I must relent to letting it go a week and then picking it up at 9pm on Sundays when they roll the rerun from the week before. So I will always be a week behind...sniff-cry-boo and hoo.....it's just killing me on Monday mornings going to bed that late....so for my personal sanity that only comes with lots and lots and lots of sleep this decision I do make. sob, sob, sob.

Why I love boys

When we dropped the bigs off at camp we of course stayed for a bit, helped them find their cabin, unpacked, walked around...you know, did the parent thing. Anyhoo, all in all we were probably there a total of about an hour. Here is what the twins feet looked like after just ONE HOUR. I can't wait to see what the boys look like after ONE WEEK! I think I may go through the car wash on the way home and make them run alongside the van as we go through!

Cute & Puke

Here is Justin driving his bumper car because he is enormous and is more than tall enough to meet the minimum height requirement for your own car; and he was quite skilled if I do say so myself. The other car is the one that almost made me barf as it was driven by Jack...who is no where near the min height...so oh joy..I got to ride with him.....16 times....I counted! There are of course no pics of Jack and I on our bumper car odyssey as I was trying very hard to not let my Jamba Juice come spewing out of me as he slams me into every nearby car at top speed. Ahhh, 6 year old days...gotta love em!
