Look what God did
This family is renting this house to us for $175 month LESS than what he advertised it for and $60 less than his monthly mortgage payment after turning down numerous offers for WAY more. Only God can do that. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, our Montgomery house. Praise be to God!

It's 'Bama Baby!
Break out the sweet tea and the deep fried Twinkies! We are moving to ALABAMA! Kudos to my totally awesome husband who got picked up for ACSC on his first look. He da man! We are nothing but excited as this was our first choice, it should be a great year for our family. Housing is cheap, tuition is cheap, and they have Cracker Barrell...need I say more?! Congratulations babe, I love ya!
Oh, and for those that are confused...it is not this Alabama...but the state. Just thought I would clear that up.

Uhh, I'm sorry..how much?
Well, there goes another $364 down the drain. Bella and Jordan's $364 occulusul guide had a run in. I'll give you one guess who won. That is like the most expensive dog treat I have ever heard of but boy did she apparently enjoying chewing the heck out of that thing. Arghh! They offered us an insurance policy when we first got it but it was the same day that Jason's braces were put on so once you write a check for a bit over $8,000 you really don't want to hear/know about an insurance policy that will cost even more. Especially when it is goig to your most responsible child.(Jordan was so upset, it fell out of his mouth while he was sleeping) So no thank you I said, and now here we sit with a ruined guide and the joy of knowing we now get to purchase a brand new one. Joy. Time to start food rationing I think; I vote Bella goes first.

Shout out to our Nee-Nee & hi to Caitlyn
When we lived in IL we had a blessing sent from heaven above in the form of one 16 year old girl. Tiffany...who in two year old twin lingo quickly became "Nee-Nee". Homegirl would just show up at my door and ask things like, "Hi Mrs. Martin! I was wondering if I could take the twins to the park to play." Uhhh, hold on a second. Let me pick myself up off the floor. "Sure!" I would say, nonchalantly...all the while doing cartwheels inside as my mind was racing with the precious few moments of free time this sweet girl bestowed upon me! She never had a "B" since she was like in diapers and thought all high school boys were stupid..can I get a amen?! She was da bomb. We loved her, we still miss her! She is now one successful college student who will do huge things to change this world of ours.
1 step forward 10 steps back....
He spits now. Arghhh. He seriously up and spit on a kid at football yesterday. Spit..ewww. I yanked him off of the field before he knew what hit him.(I have learned I can move rather quickly in my pointy boots.) Are you still praying? We are! God is good and He has a plan in mind for this boy that is much, much bigger than we are. We are trusting in that and that alone. Spit happens.
School House Rock...well, it ROCKS!

Country Fair
We went to the school fair/carnival/another exscuse to get more money out of you extravaganza last night. I, being the stellar mother I am, forgot the camera. So to give you a visual; here is what it looked like:
Maybe that is why our tuition is absolutely ridiculously high? Okay, really, it looked more like this:
Anyway, we had a good time. Kids had a blast and I will now spend the day dealing with the sugar ramifications of said faire. Gotta go put the coffee on!

Spirit Week
Presenting everyone's favorite Super Hero....Super Skinny Man! Ha! Crackin me up. It was spirit week for middle school this week and on Super Hero Day(where you have to make up your own original hero) Jason came up with, "Super Skinny Man!" That boy is too much fun. Jordan announced that when it is his super hero day he would like to be Super Underpants and wear various forms of undergarments....well, I will say this. My kids are nothing if not creative! Today was class color day so we had some fun this morning with some face paint and hair spray. Check the boy out! Oh, and notice that his mother...that'd be me, spelled "skinny" wrong on his shirt...I wrote, "skinney" whoops! My bad, no super hero writing for me without at least 3 cups of coffee next time. No one should have a sharpie and a cape in their hand at 6:30am anyway!

Don't they look excited to be up this morning!
So here is me in the mornings:
Okay, not really me, but merely an illustration of the fact that I am very much a morning person. Here is me once about 7:30pm rolls around:
or even this:
Again, not really me...no way I am that flexible...nor am I a hairy canine. Now here are the boys this morning; you choose: Morning people or night people?! You be the judge.

I Heart Him
Flag Football in Frigid, Freezing California
Twins had their first game yesterday...one word..COLD! The wind and freeziness(yes, I believe that is a word) tends to kick up around here right as soon as football kicks off. They did great though despite the 12 layers of shirts I had on them. In between offense & defense they would run over and climb under the blankets with John and I to get somewhat warm. It was like playing football in Antartica I'm telling ya! I mean, last time I played football in Antartica it felt just like this!

Keeping up with the Welch's & the rest of America
Okay, okay, okay...I confess...we are without Tivo....we have been living in the dark ages apparently. Well now that baseball playoff's have begun(Go Red Sox) we are having a revolt amongst the natives that the games tend to continue WELL past bedtime around here which means they are missing a signifigant portion of the fun. That will never do so John boy made a phone call and lookie look, Comcast is having DVR free for a year! Yippee! So after spending 35 minutes in line today at the Comcast place we have our new DVR box. Can I just say how ghetto that place is? Can I also say that if you where your pajamas to the store, and you are carrying your kid who looks like they haven't bathed in a week then you probably shouldn't be spending $$ on cable every month! Perhaps our priorities are a little off base? Maybe 1st should be get dressed, bathe the baby, and then worry about your TV viewing opportunities? Just a thought! Anyhoo, the war is over...peace & baseball will once again reign among our home.
Why I love being a mom. Edition 327
I've been writing notes to the boys via their magna doodles recently, simple things like, "Great job on your soccer game today" or "Thank you for doing the dishes without being asked!" or "So help me if you don't start picking up your underwear off the bathroom floor!"(Kidding on that one...though I do mean it! :) and leaving it on their pillow so when they go to bed they find a little message. Well today, I found a note back to me on my bed. Not thank you mom for taking care of me, thanks for slaving over a hot stove and cooking my favorite dinner....no, no, no....what do I get? A breakfast order. Too cute. In some way I am convinced that this is Jordan's way of being thankful by continuing our little message writing service....or at least I choose to believe that! I love that boy. Well, I am off to make "toaster thingies" for him!

Feelin a little blue
What to do, what to do, what on earth to do with this precious child of mine. Justin is so far not improving in the realm of being civilized with other children. And I, being the incredibly impatient mom that I am, am feeling a bit discouraged. He was at flag football practice yesterday and no kidding, within the first 5 minutes he had pushed two kids down and pinched another one. I had to pull him off of the field. It is SO devastating to watch your own child not be able to interact... for the other parents who look at you like you have two heads and try to keep thier kids away from yours. For me, for John, at home, in our family he is fabulous. When we go out, he is fabulous. When he gets around other kids that irritate him...not so fabulous. I won't go into too much detail but just know that we are feeling very challenged right now so please pray for our boy. We need joy to fill his heart.
This is the book I picked up at Barnes & Noble. I read another one while he was reading some of his books; it is like they are talking about Justin. We feel like we are doing everything we can do to help him and to be honest, we are a little clueless as to how to proceed. I quit my job, we tried a new school, I am homeschooling him, we work with him, we work with him, we work with him. So will you pray for us? This issue affects every bit of our daily lives, it affects our family, it affects our marriage, it affects his relationship with his brothers, it is far reaching but I know we will not give up...we will NOT give up. -signed- a very blue blogger.

If I may be so bold
So when you are an at home mom everyday can feel a little like Groundhog day. (Can I get a amen?) Get up, get dressed, kids to school, homeschool, clean, dinner, pick kids up, football practice, soccer practice, showers, homework, bed...I said go to BED! So it is the little things in life that make you happy. My little thing? Blue toilet water. Yep, you heard me..and yes I am in full realization that that is downright pathetic but hey! Give me a break, Groundhog day remember? I was talking with my good, good, very good friend Lisa yesterday and we were discussing how fun it is to be "domesticated", well I submit to you ladies and gentleman that this is the height; the pinnacle if you will, of domestication. Blue toilet water. With four boys comes lots and lots and LOTS of pee. Pee everywhere, everywhere pee. This stuff was sent to me from the good Lord himself. So come on over, have a cup of coffee, I'll bake you some homemade scones...but before you leave...go pee in the blue toilet water.
